Flashlight Project Inc. (“AdvisorOS,” “we,” “us”) operates theadvisoros.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Public Advisor Data: We aggregate publicly available registration data from the SEC Investment Adviser Public Disclosure (IAPD) system and FINRA BrokerCheck. This data is already public.
Account Information: When you sign up to claim a profile, we collect your email address for authentication via magic link.
Tool Inputs: When you use our interactive tools (Fee Calculator, Benchmarker, Advisor Match), we store the inputs you provide (asset amount, location, preferences) along with your email if you choose to provide it.
Usage Data: We collect page views, referrer URLs, and user agent strings for analytics purposes. We use Sentry for error tracking.
We use your information to: operate and improve the directory; authenticate claimed profiles; deliver tool results and advisor matches; send transactional emails (verification, referral notifications, weekly stats); and analyze usage patterns.
We send: magic link authentication emails; referral and credit notification emails; lead notification emails to claimed Premium advisors; and weekly stats emails to claimed advisors. We do not sell your email to third parties or send unsolicited marketing email.
We do not sell personal information. We share data with: Resend (email delivery); Stripe (payment processing for Premium subscriptions); Cloudinary (headshot image hosting); and Railway/Vercel (infrastructure). Each processes data only as needed to provide their services.
We use essential cookies for authentication (NextAuth session cookies). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Public advisor data is retained as long as the advisor is registered. Account data is retained until deletion is requested. Tool lead data is retained for 2 years for analytics purposes.
You may request to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; delete your account and associated data; or remove your advisor profile from the directory (see our removal process). Contact privacy@theadvisoros.com for any requests.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
